Q7. Why choose partial thread wood screws instead of full thread?
A7: Partial thread screws feature an unthreaded shank under the head. This design allows the screw to pull the top wooden board tightly against the base piece, creating a completely gap-free, secure joint. Full-thread screws can sometimes cause "jacking," where a gap is trapped between the two boards.

Q8. Will stainless steel wood screws react with treated lumber (tannic acid)?
A8: Stainless steel is the safest and most recommended choice for treated lumber (like ACQ or cedar). Unlike standard carbon steel or zinc-plated screws, stainless steel will not corrode when exposed to wood acids or harsh outdoor chemicals, preventing ugly black streaks on the wood surface.

Q9. How do I choose the correct hex lag bolt length for a wooden structure?
A9: As a general rule, the lag bolt should penetrate at least 2/3 of the thickness of the base (bottom) timber piece. For example, if you are fastening a 2-inch board to a 4-inch post, the bolt length should be long enough to pass through the 2-inch board and go at least 2.5 to 3 inches deep into the post.
